Hard to improve on
Someone has planted herbs in pots by the door and you are clearly meant to use them. Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur.
Nothing worth writing here.

Fine, and fine is enough
Efficient and predictable, which is what a two-night work trip needs. A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them. I slept well: the room is dark, cool and quiet after ten.
The walk back from Uluwatu Temple is all uphill, which I had not thought about.

Lovely staff, lovely building
Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked. Within two streets there is a natural wine shop and a proper greengrocer, so we ate well and cheaply.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Quiet room, great coffee
We were at Mount Batur in twenty minutes on foot, which changed how we used the days. The Cosy Room is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out. No faff with the room: dark, cool and quiet by ten. Records in the room, a proper armchair and the coffee that would hold up in any city.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait.

Nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about
Good for a few nights alone - I was left to get on with it. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
Service in the bar was slow when it filled up after nine.

A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them. Lovely for a couple of nights away, quiet and personal.
Cleanliness was not what it should be - we found the previous guest's earring under the bed. Towels are changed only on request, which is sensible but was not explained.
