8.4Great base for Dubai
the children were in the pool from nine until they were dragged out, and the shallow end is properly shallow.
The car park is a three-minute walk and costs more per night than we expected. The curtains do not quite meet in the middle, so you are up with the light.

6.8Hard to recommend at this rate
Wanted to like it more than I did. My flight landed at one in the morning and the man on the desk still made me a tea. The Deluxe King Room suited me well for a short stay. Good for a few nights alone - I was left to get on with it.
The grouting in the bathroom is tired and no amount of cleaning will fix it now.

Fair value for Dubai prices, particularly in high season. Palm Jumeirah is a sensible base, a few streets back from the crowds and still close to everything.
The bathroom fan runs for twenty minutes after you leave and is loud.

For Dubai, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties. Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk.

7.6Reliable rather than exciting
The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week. Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.
Loading and unloading outside is awkward on a street that narrow.
