Sound choice near Stilt fishermen
Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. Clean and tidy throughout the stay. Firm mattress, which is exactly how I like it.
The bed is too firm for me - I ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

Good bones, tired edges
Fine for a work trip: quiet floor, quick breakfast, cab rank outside. Firm mattress, which is exactly how I like it.
There is one toaster for the whole room, so there is a queue at ten.

Location carries it
The gym has what you need for a week away and is never busy. Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Could not have gone better
There is a shortcut through the square that saves about five minutes and somebody drew it on our map - plenty of storage in the Standard Double Room, which sounds dull until you have unpacked for a fortnight.
Checkout is half past nine and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

We have already rebooked
Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right; the kids club actually did things rather than parking them in front of a screen, so we got two mornings to ourselves.
Nothing worth mentioning, and that is rare.

The location is genuinely good, and that is the only reason this is not lower.
I do not enjoy writing reviews like this one. Noise from the bar downstairs went on past two every night and the walls do nothing. The heating did not come on for the whole stay and it was July.
