Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer. Paulo sorted a late checkout on the last day without us even having to push for it.

6.6One night too many
Easy place to stay on your own, and the area is fine to walk at night. The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. Two bus routes and a tram stop within a few minutes, so I got around easily.
Street parking is free after ten and impossible before it.

Garden City turned out to be exactly the right call - everything we had pinned was walkable. Self check-in with a code, clear instructions, and we were inside two minutes after the taxi left.

Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat.
The walk back to the station on the Sunday, and that is scraping.

8.9Very happy indeed
We are fussy about where we sleep. You step out of the door and you are already somewhere worth being. I ran two client calls from the desk and the room was quiet enough that nobody asked where I was. We forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted us a table anyway.
The shower head is fixed high on the wall and cannot be angled.

7.7Comfortable enough
The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one. Our flight landed at one in the morning and the man on the desk still made us a tea. Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat.
Wifi drops in the far rooms, so I took calls in the lobby.
