8.9Great base for Zanzibar
Spot on for a first visit - you can walk out of the door and start. Late nights out and nobody once tutted at us coming in at three.
Checkout at ten is early when you have an evening flight. Hot water was slow to arrive on the second floor first thing.

6.2Location good, room less so
Wanted to like it more than we did. Michamvi is a sensible base, a few streets back from the crowds and still close to everything. Reception were helpful when we needed a doctor's address, which we appreciated. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
Housekeeping missed us entirely on the Friday. The car park is a three-minute walk and costs more per night than we expected.

9.0Comfortable beds, good coffee
Right, so. The bathroom is bigger than the one at home, with a rain shower and a bench to put things on. The radiator clanked at about two in the morning and then settled down, and honestly we grew fond of it.
Nothing worth mentioning, and that is rare.

Fine, with caveats. Easy place to stay on your own, and the area is fine to walk at night.
I asked twice about the noise and nothing came of it. The bins have to go out on a Wednesday, which I only discovered on the last day.

9.0Good sleep, good breakfast
Not fancy, but that was never the point. Worth every penny, and I do not say that often. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait. Checkout at nine is early when you have an evening flight.

6.2Somewhere between fine and not
The flat suited me well for a short stay. Nobody blinked at a table for one, which is not true everywhere. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
Checkout is half past ten and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast. Wasps around the breakfast tables in September, which is hardly their fault.
