Needs some attention
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. Sociable without being a party hostel, and the bunks are sturdy.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait.

Frustrating from the start
The aircon held the room cool all through the September heat.
Stairs only to the second floor, which was fine for me but would not suit everyone. The desk was stretched thin and it showed - five requests went unanswered.

Beat our expectations
Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms. Oil, salt, coffee and a corkscrew already there - whoever set this up has actually travelled. Firm mattress, which suits me, and a duvet that is not the usual thin thing.
Not one thing in two nights.

Exactly right
Bunks have curtains, a plug and a light each, which is all anyone actually wants. Sat on the terrace with a glass of wine watching the light go off the rooftops. That is the memory. Hard to beat the position: Wat Arun one way, the market the other, and no need for a taxi all week.
Nothing at all in five nights.

Not quite worth it
The aircon held the room cool all through the June heat. Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking. They let us sit in the courtyard with our own wine on the last night.
No screens on the windows, so it is a choice between the heat and the mosquitoes. The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

Good bones, tired edges
I am fussy about where I sleep. Petra at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
You cannot set the aircon below twenty-three, which in June is not quite enough.
