Some good, some frustrating
Some of this worked, some of it did not. Location is the strong point - five minutes to Casa Batlló and a metro stop close by. Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing.
It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with the cases in the heat. The aircon unit drips onto the balcony floor, which we mentioned on the Friday.

The best night's sleep of the trip
I booked for three nights and extended to five, which tells you what I thought of the price. My taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin. Lockers are big enough for a sixty-litre pack, which almost nowhere manages.

Beat our expectations
Late nights out and nobody once tutted at us coming in at three. Milo sorted a late checkout on the last day without us even having to push for it. Within two streets there is a family-run trattoria and a proper greengrocer, so we ate well and cheaply.
Nothing here. Do book it.

It is priced sensibly, and that counts for something.
Not enough sockets for eight people, so charging is a nightly negotiation. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

The one to book in Poblenou
Booked this on a whim and glad we did. Plenty of storage in the Bed in 6-bed female dorm, which sounds dull until you have unpacked for a fortnight. Bunks have curtains, a plug and a light each, which is all anyone actually wants.
I have sat here for a minute and cannot think of anything.

Fine, with caveats - the terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
Street noise at the front until the bars close - ask for a room over the courtyard.
