Comfortable enough for three nights
Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. Simple and very quiet, which is what we came for.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait. You have to log in again every day, which is a small irritation that adds up over five nights.

Ask for a room at the back
Trails start at the door, so we walked before breakfast every morning. Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer.
No kettle in the room, which for a British guest is practically a design flaw.

Very happy indeed
Late nights out and nobody once tutted at us coming in at three. Proper shower pressure and hot water immediately, not after a minute of hoping.
Only that we had to leave.

The roof terrace at sunset is the reason to book this place - we went up every night.

Wanted to like it more
Clean and tidy throughout the stay. Teodora at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful.
The sofa bed in the cabin is not somewhere you would want a second week. No air conditioning, and August in Queenstown is warm - the fan only does so much.

Would book again on price
The rate held steady when we added a night, which we appreciated. Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in July, when it is bright by quarter past seven.
