Handy for Merdeka Square
Walking back from Merdeka Square after dinner took twenty minutes and never once felt like a trek. Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Bukit Bintang late at night. For what I paid in December, this was the best value stay of the trip by a distance. Nothing was too much trouble - a spare adapter, a table booking, a taxi at dawn.
Checkout is ten and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Disappointing, sadly
Wanted to like it more than we did. Being twenty minutes from Petronas Towers was the one thing that worked in its favour.
Nobody told us the restaurant was closed for the week until we turned up hungry on the Friday.

Perfectly decent
The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot. Check-in was straightforward and the desk answered questions properly.
The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

The best night's sleep of the trip
Homemade cake at four in the afternoon, whether or not you asked for it; the staff pointed us to a tiny tapas place round the corner and it became our regular.
The walk back to the station on the Monday, and that is scraping.

Petra sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not. Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right.
Checkout at half past nine is early when you have an evening flight.

Handy for Petronas Towers
Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right. Andrei sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation. A cat lives in the courtyard and considers the chairs to be hers.
It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with our bags in the heat.
