Needs a proper refurbishment
Bikes to borrow, which I used on both mornings.
Stairs only to the third floor, which was fine for me but would not suit everyone. Roadworks on the corner from six on the Monday, and nobody had warned me.

Clean and quiet, close to everything
Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night. The stairs creak in a way that is either charming or annoying depending on how tired you are.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in August, when it is bright by seven.

One night too many
There is a shortcut through the square that saves about five minutes and somebody drew it on our map. There is a coffee machine in the room, which saved us a few euros a day.
No screens on the windows, so it is a choice between the heat and the mosquitoes. The room we were given was not the one we booked and it took five conversations to be moved.

Nearly perfect
Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right. Plenty of storage in the Twin Room, which sounds dull until you have unpacked for a fortnight. The garden at the back is where we spent every evening with a bottle of something local.
The shower takes a good minute to warm up, which adds up over two days.

Comfortable enough
The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
There is no fridge in the room, so the wine we bought stayed warm. Blackout blinds would make a difference in January, when it is bright by seven.

Our favourite find in Stockholm
Proper shower pressure and hot water immediately, not after a minute of hoping. Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Södermalm late at night.
