Great few days in Playa
We spent both evenings in the bar downstairs and never felt hurried out of it. The window in the bathroom looks straight onto a wall covered in jasmine.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in December, when it is bright by half past seven.

Does the job
Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. Efficient and predictable, which is what a two-night work trip needs. The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run.
Street parking is free after nine and impossible before it.

Comfortable enough for three nights
A washing machine in the flat, which halfway through a long trip is a real thing. The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week.
Roadworks on the corner from seven on the Friday, and nobody had warned us.

Tired and overpriced
The shuttle runs on the hour and drops you right at the terminal. Fine for a work trip: quiet floor, quick breakfast, cab rank outside.
Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Left a night early
A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them. The aircon held the room cool all through the September heat.
Storage is two hangers and a shelf, so we lived out of the bags. Cleanliness was not what it should be - we found the previous guest's earring under the bed.

Paid for a hotel, got a building site
The location is genuinely good, and that is the only reason this is not lower.
For the money we paid this was not acceptable. We were given a different room from the one we booked, smaller and facing the bins, with no adjustment to the price. The Family Room had not been cleaned properly: hair in the shower tray and dust along every skirting board. Breakfast was advertised and included, then turned out to be cereal and instant coffee. The desk was stretched thin and it showed - four requests went unanswered.
