Worth it for Bryggen
Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Fine for a couple of nights
Three rooms on the same floor, which saved a lot of shouting up stairwells.
The extractor does not cope, so the mirror is useless after the first shower. The heating is on a timer and goes off at about ten, which in November you feel by morning.

Happy we booked it
Would come back tomorrow. Coffee on the balcony before breakfast, watching Bryggen wake up. Worth the upgrade. Somebody had left a shelf of paperbacks by the window and I got through two of them.
No kettle in the room, which for a British guest is practically a design flaw.

Location carries it
Charming small hotel, and the lighting lifts it above the usual. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. Clean and tidy throughout the stay.
The city tax and the cleaning fee together came as a surprise at checkout.
