Perfectly decent
our two were happy, which is most of the review.
The lift is slow enough that we walked down from the third floor most days.

Fine, and fine is enough
Good set-up for families - a shallow pool, high chairs and staff who do not mind noise. There is a lift, which we were glad of on the way up with our bags.
There is construction across the street that starts at half past six, so bring earplugs.

The terrace alone is worth it
Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Josefstadt late at night.

Our favourite find in Vienna
Double glazing that works, so the tram going past is a rumour rather than an event. Underfloor heating in the bathroom in November is a small luxury that we noticed every morning.

Best breakfast of the trip
Somebody had left a shelf of paperbacks by the window and I got through two of them. Half board with a children's sitting at six meant we ate dinner in peace afterwards.
We had to be out by nine on the last day, and that is genuinely the worst of it.

Everything we hoped for
We nearly booked somewhere flashier and I am glad we did not. Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed. Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked.
Only one socket by the bed, and the switch for it is behind the headboard.
