This is the sort of Bruges hotel you book twice: nothing showy, everything working. Two things people book it for: generous breakfast buffet and airport shuttle on request. Book direct and they will usually hold the room until the evening.

Genuinely lovely stay
Small breakfast, but everything on the table was good - honey from the market and a pot of proper coffee. We ate in twice out of laziness and were glad both times - the kitchen is better than it needs to be. We arrived hours early and they took the suitcases without a fuss, then messaged when the room was ready.
Nothing here. Do book it.

Would think twice
Connection was good enough to work from for a morning. Firm mattress, which is exactly how we like it. The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. both boys were happy, which is most of the review.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay. One small lift for four floors - fine unless everyone checks out at once.

Not terrible, not memorable
Wanted to like it more than we did. Pleasant bar for a nightcap, and they do not rush you out of it. Plenty of places to eat within a short walk, most of them reasonably priced. Practical base near the offices, and the checkout was quick at seven in the morning.
The lift is slow enough that we walked down from the sixth floor most days. Bin lorry at about half past seven on the Saturday, and we heard every bottle.

Needs a proper refurbishment
In fairness, the person on the desk did what she could. Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out.
Pillows are enormous and there is no alternative on offer. The bathroom fan runs for twenty minutes after you leave and is loud.

Our favourite find in Bruges
Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed. There is a lift, which in a building this old is a small miracle.
Honestly, nothing.

Strong all round
Booked this on a whim and glad we did. Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked. Worth every penny, and we do not say that often.
Only the weather, which is hardly their doing.
