No surprises, good or bad
Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat. Check-in was straightforward and the desk answered questions properly. The room was cleaned properly every day and the bins were never left.
The lift is slow enough that we walked down from the fourth floor most days.

Ask for a room at the back
Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms - the building is residential, so the stairwell smells of somebody's dinner rather than air freshener.
No complaints from us this time.

Left slightly deflated
Good position overall, and I walked most places rather than paying for cabs. Feels like a real home rather than a rental, which I prefer.
One small lift for four floors - fine unless everyone checks out at once. Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through my stay.

Good sleep, good breakfast
Fast, stable wifi in the room rather than only in the lobby, which is rarer than it should be.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Galle rather than the hotel.

Better in the photos
You get more for the money here than at the two places I priced up in Galle Fort. The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week.
Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Handy for Lighthouse
Self check-in with a code, clear instructions, and we were inside two minutes after the taxi left. They lent us an umbrella on the wet Tuesday and did not ask for it back until we left.
Hot water was slow to arrive on the fourth floor first thing.
