Not what the photos promised
Feels like a real home rather than a rental, which I prefer.
The shower door leaks a little onto the bathroom floor. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Not quite worth it
Location is the strong point - ten minutes to Dam Square and a metro stop close by.
No lift, and it is three flights with a hard turn at the top. Worth knowing before you book.

Does the important things well
Booked late and got lucky. Amsterdam-Noord turned out to be exactly the right call - everything I had pinned was walkable. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat. My taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Amsterdam rather than the hotel.

Location carries it
Booked this on a whim and glad we did. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one. Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building.
Street parking is free after ten and impossible before it. The bathroom fan runs for twenty-five minutes after you leave and is loud.

Handy, if a little dated
Feels like a real home rather than a rental, which we prefer. Location is the strong point - twenty minutes to Anne Frank House and a metro stop close by. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
Pillows are enormous and there is no alternative on offer.

Would not book again
Mixed feelings about this one - it is priced sensibly, and that counts for something. Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking.
Service ranged from warm to indifferent depending on who was working. The air conditioning rattled on the third night; maintenance swapped a part the next morning.
