seven minutes from Church of Our Lady
We ended up in the same corner cafe three mornings running, which tells you something about Langestraat. The view from the balcony is not a marketing photograph - it is genuinely that. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat.
Only that everywhere else now has a lot to live up to.

Good from check-in onwards
Langestraat has that mix of locals and visitors that makes a place feel alive rather than staged - the building is residential, so the stairwell smells of somebody's dinner rather than air freshener.
Getting a taxi to find the entrance took some explaining.

Decent, with reservations
Worked well for a group of us, with somewhere to sit together in the evening. Clean and tidy throughout the stay. Elke at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful.
The connection slowed to nothing each evening from about ten, when the place fills up. Roadworks on the corner from quarter past seven on the Monday, and nobody had warned us.

Really rather good
Coffee on the balcony mid-afternoon, watching Langestraat wake up. Worth the upgrade. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not. Living like a resident rather than a guest for a week: market, kitchen, balcony, repeat.

No surprises, good or bad
There is a lift, which we were glad of on the way up with the suitcases. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. You get more for the money here than at the two places we priced up in Langestraat.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in October, when it is bright by half past seven.

Lovely staff, lovely building
Underfloor heating in the bathroom in October is a small luxury that I noticed every morning. Self check-in with a code, clear instructions, and I was inside two minutes after the taxi left.
The lift is slow enough that I walked down from the third floor most days.
