Wanted to like it more
Fine, with caveats. Practical base near the offices, and the checkout was quick at seven in the morning.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through my stay. There is no fridge in the room, so the wine I bought stayed warm.

Location good, room less so
Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake. I forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted me a table anyway. Fine for a work trip: quiet floor, quick breakfast, cab rank outside. Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking.
There is no fridge in the room, so the wine I bought stayed warm.

Does the important things well
The restaurant does a short menu properly rather than a long one badly. Double glazing that works, so the tram going past is a rumour rather than an event.
A second bedside lamp and a couple more sockets would finish the room off. One small lift for five floors - fine unless everyone checks out at once.

Decent, with reservations
The restaurant is convenient and priced about where you would expect.
Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin. There is a bar on the corner that empties out noisily on a Sunday night.

Fine, and fine is enough
Fine for a work trip: quiet floor, quick breakfast, cab rank outside. The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions.
Loading and unloading outside is awkward on a street that narrow.

Good from check-in onwards
Late nights out and nobody once tutted at us coming in at three. Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed.
The lift takes one suitcase and a hopeful expression, so there is a queue at eleven in the morning.
