Wanted to like it more
Fine, with caveats. A washing machine in the flat, which halfway through a long trip is a real thing. Feels like a real home rather than a rental, which we prefer.
The bathroom fan runs for twenty-five minutes after you leave and is loud.

Adequate and well placed
The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat. Two bus routes and a tram stop within a few minutes, so we got around easily.
One small lift for three floors - fine unless everyone checks out at once.

Our favourite find in Dubrovnik
For Dubrovnik, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties. We ended up in the same corner cafe three mornings running, which tells you something about Gruž - the neighbour opposite waters her balcony at seven every morning and says hello.
Nothing worth writing here.

Best breakfast of the trip
Long weekend, first time in Gruž. Walking back from Banje Beach after dinner took eight minutes and never once felt like a trek. The building is residential, so the stairwell smells of somebody's dinner rather than air freshener.
Only the weather, which is hardly their doing.

Sound choice near Stradun
Straightforward self check-in and a well-equipped flat. Fair value for Dubrovnik prices, particularly in high season.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in November, when it is bright by six.

Room for improvement
Feels like a real home rather than a rental, which I prefer. Firm mattress, which is exactly how I like it.
It is showing its age in places - a chipped door frame here, a tired carpet there.
