Fine if you're out all day
We are fussy about where we sleep. They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for. The pool is a good size and always clean. both boys were happy, which is most of the review.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.

Very good, minor niggles
Small breakfast, but everything on the table was good - fresh figs and yoghurt and a pot of proper coffee. Underfloor heating in the bathroom in December is a small luxury that we noticed every morning.
A second bedside lamp and a couple more sockets would finish the room off.

Half worked, half didn't
The rate held steady when we added a night, which we appreciated. Weligama is a sensible base, a few streets back from the crowds and still close to everything.
The buffet gets picked over if you arrive after ten.

Quiet room, great coffee
Short version: yes. Two nights in and we were sleeping through until eight, which never happens for us. The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run.
Nothing - we have already looked at dates for next year.

Good spot, tired rooms
Wanted to like it more than we did; clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. Beach access is easy and there is a shower to rinse off on the way back. We forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted us a table anyway.
Cleanliness was not what it should be - we found the previous guest's earring under the bed.

Lovely staff, lovely building
They put a cot in without being asked and left a small plate of fruit for our two.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk.
