Rare to get it all right
Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur. There is a shortcut through the square that saves about five minutes and somebody drew it on our map.

Fine if you're out all day
Booked this on a whim and glad I did. Bag storage on the last day was useful. Reception were helpful when I needed a doctor's address, which I appreciated.
The extractor does not cope, so the mirror is useless after the first shower.

Half worked, half didn't
Easy place to be a group without annoying anyone.
The kitchen closes at half past ten, which we found out the hard way on the Wednesday.

Does the job
Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking. The desk kept an eye out for me without making a thing of it. There is a coffee machine in the room, which saved me a few euros a day.
The walk back from Bryggen Wharf is all uphill, which I had not thought about.

No surprises, good or bad
Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out. Charming small hotel, and the joinery lifts it above the usual. Reception were helpful when we needed a doctor's address, which we appreciated. We slept well: the room is dark, cool and quiet after ten.
The bathroom is clean but the fittings belong to a previous decade.
