Worst stay of the trip
It is close to Bondi Beach, and that is the whole of the good news.
This is the first bad review I have written in years. The heating did not come on for the whole stay and it was December. The Signature Room had not been cleaned properly: hair in the shower tray and dust along every skirting board. There was mould in the corner of the bathroom ceiling and the extractor did not work.

Cannot recommend it
The bed itself was comfortable enough. The Cosy Room is at least well laid out for the size.
Everything on site is priced for people not counting, from the water to the laundry.

Our favourite find in Sydney
The restaurant does a short menu properly rather than a long one badly. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not.
The lift takes one suitcase and a hopeful expression, so there is a queue at half past nine in the morning. The shower door leaks a little onto the bathroom floor.

Hard to recommend at this rate
Good spread at breakfast and they keep the coffee coming. Lovely for a couple of nights away, quiet and personal.

Lovely staff, lovely building
It feels like a house rather than a hotel, and the owners are around without hovering. For Sydney, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties. The Suite is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out. Opened the shutters on the first morning and just stood there for a minute.
Coffee at breakfast comes from a machine rather than the bar downstairs, which is a shame.

No complaints, no fireworks
Turned up late, tired and grumpy, and were looked after. Nobody blinked at a table for one, which is not true everywhere. Good spread at breakfast and they keep the coffee coming. Pleasant bar for a nightcap, and they do not rush you out of it.
There is construction across the street that starts at eight, so bring earplugs.
