7.0The address is the best thing about it
Charming small hotel, and the old terrazzo floor lifts it above the usual.
The shower takes a good minute to warm up, which adds up over three days. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

8.5Warm welcome in Queenstown Central
Two nights in and I was sleeping through until eight, which never happens for me. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it.

6.9Tired and overpriced
Lovely for a couple of nights away, quiet and personal. Room was warm enough in November, which was the main worry.
Hot water was slow to arrive on the sixth floor first thing. The curtains do not quite meet in the middle, so you are up with the light.

7.1A stay of two halves
Clean bed linen, clean towels, clean floors. That is the main thing. They lent us an umbrella on the wet Tuesday and did not ask for it back until we left. Worked well for a group of us, with somewhere to sit together in the evening.
The buffet gets picked over if you arrive after eleven. The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Queenstown Central late at night.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in October, when it is bright by quarter past seven.

9.6Everything we hoped for
Booked this on a whim and glad I did. Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Queenstown Central late at night. Lift straight from the street to the floor, so my rucksack were never a problem.
Nothing at all in five nights.
