Falls well short
The bed itself was comfortable enough.
There is construction across the street that starts at six, so bring earplugs. The bathroom fan runs for twenty minutes after you leave and is loud.

Warm welcome in Hlíðar
The roof terrace at sunset is the reason to book this place - we went up every night. The window in the bathroom looks straight onto a wall covered in jasmine.
No kettle in the room, which for a British guest is practically a design flaw.

Comfortable beds, good coffee
Came for two nights, stayed four. Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur.
The buffet gets picked over if you arrive after nine. The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it.

Decent, with reservations
Came for two nights, stayed four. A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them. Check-in was straightforward and the desk answered questions properly.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after four nights you notice.

Easy stay, no dramas
Nothing was too much trouble - a spare adapter, a table booking, a taxi at dawn. No faff with the room: dark, cool and quiet by ten. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
I was reminded about the nine checkout twice on the Monday, which felt unnecessary.
