8.8Really rather good
Walking back from Majorelle Garden after dinner took ten minutes and never once felt like a trek. There is a shortcut through the square that saves about five minutes and somebody drew it on our map.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Marrakesh rather than the hotel. The curtains do not quite meet in the middle, so you are up with the light.

6.6Not what the photos promised
The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot - quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out. Fair value for Marrakesh prices, particularly in high season.
The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet. Roadworks on the corner from half past six on the Monday, and nobody had warned us.

9.7The one to book in Mellah
Milo sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation. There is a good market on Saturday about twenty-five minutes away that nobody had told us about. Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - we never heard the street once.
Shower pressure drops off when the floor is busy at about eight.

I uploaded a large file from the room in minutes and nobody at the other end noticed I was away.
Checkout at half past nine is early when you have an evening flight.

9.8Mellah done properly
Somebody has thought about the art on the walls, and it shows in a way photographs do not capture. Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms. The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run.
We were reminded about the nine checkout twice on the Friday, which felt unnecessary.

The neighbour opposite waters her balcony at seven every morning and says hello. Clean and tidy throughout the stay.
