8.0Right for a short stay
The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot. You get more for the money here than at the two places we priced up in Queenstown Central. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. Reception were helpful when we needed a doctor's address, which we appreciated.
The sofa bed in the Double Room with Garden View is not somewhere you would want a second week.

8.4Solid choice, would return
Warm room, thick curtains and dark afternoons spent reading - exactly what November is for. Worth every penny, and we do not say that often. Somebody has thought about the old terrazzo floor, and it shows in a way photographs do not capture.
The shower takes a good minute to warm up, which adds up over two days.

Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Queenstown Central late at night. Warm room, thick curtains and dark afternoons spent reading - exactly what November is for.
The shower head is fixed high on the wall and cannot be angled.

7.0Needs some attention
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. The room was cleaned properly every day and the bins were never left. The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building.
The bed is too firm for us - we ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet.

Loading and unloading outside is awkward on a street that narrow. You hear the door of the room next to you every time it shuts.
