10.0The best night's sleep of the trip
Warm room, thick curtains and dark afternoons spent reading - exactly what December is for. They kept my rucksack until the evening flight and even brought them down to the taxi. Hiroshi on reception had me checked in inside three minutes and drew a map of the area on the spot.

For Cartagena, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties. Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in November, when it is bright by quarter past seven.

9.1Better than the street suggests
Iron that heats up, a mirror you can knot a tie in, and enough sockets by the bed. Ola sorted a late checkout on the last day without me even having to push for it. The Suite is bigger than the photographs suggest and cleverly laid out.
One person on the desk at ten in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives.

8.4Handy for Getsemaní street art
Two nights in and I was sleeping through until eight, which never happens for me.
The lift is slow enough that I walked down from the sixth floor most days. Checkout is eleven and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

7.0Some good, some frustrating
Efficient and predictable, which is what a two-night work trip needs. Comfortable bed, and they brought firmer pillows within ten minutes of asking.
I was reminded about the eleven checkout twice on the Monday, which felt unnecessary. The heating is on a timer and goes off at about nine, which in November you feel by morning.
