Clean and central, not much else
Third time in Cape Town and the first time I have got the hotel right. Room was warm enough in November, which was the main worry.
The shower head is fixed high on the wall and cannot be angled.

Wanted to like it more
Fine, with caveats. Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
Wifi does not reach the terrace, which is where you actually want to sit. Storage is five hangers and a shelf, so we lived out of the bags.

Faultless from start to finish
You step out of the door and you are already somewhere worth being; I forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted me a table anyway.
Nothing that would stop us booking again tomorrow.

Strong on location and staff
Spot on for a first visit - you can walk out of the door and start. Ended up on the walking tour with four people from my dorm and we were still out at midnight.

Good sleep, good breakfast
They keep a jar of sweets by the lift that nobody admits to eating from. Underfloor heating in the bathroom in October is a small luxury that we noticed every morning.
Checkout at nine is early when you have an evening flight.

Short version: yes. Fast, stable wifi in the room rather than only in the lobby, which is rarer than it should be. Ended up on the walking tour with four people from my dorm and we were still out at midnight. Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms.
