Very happy indeed
The view from the balcony is not a marketing photograph - it is genuinely that. A bell rings somewhere nearby on the hour and we stopped noticing it by the second day.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in December, when it is bright by seven.

Belém turned out to be exactly the right call - everything I had pinned was walkable. The common room does that rare thing of being sociable without being loud at two in the morning.

They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for.
The air conditioning rattled on the last night; maintenance swapped a part the next morning.

Simple and clean
The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast. We slept well: the room is dark, cool and quiet after ten.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.

Better in the photos
Fair value for Lisbon prices, particularly in high season. Room was warm enough in November, which was the main worry. Hiroshi at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful.
The keycards demagnetised twice and we had to go back down to the desk. The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Friendly and well run
Turned up late, tired and grumpy, and were looked after. Within two streets there is a rooftop bar and a proper greengrocer, so we ate well and cheaply. Late nights out and nobody once tutted at us coming in at three.
That we booked only four nights.
