2.1Do not book this
The bed itself was comfortable. Everything around it was not.
This is the first bad review I have written in years. We reported a broken shower on arrival and it was still broken when we left five days later. The lock on the door did not engage properly, which is not something you want to discover at midnight.

7.3A stay of two halves
The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week. Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking.
Lockers take a padlock you have to buy at reception. Pillows are enormous and there is no alternative on offer.

7.1Two nights was enough
Fair value for Cape Town prices, particularly in high season; the front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not. Bag storage on the last day was useful.
Loading and unloading outside is awkward on a street that narrow.

9.9Our favourite find in Cape Town
Would come back tomorrow. The roof terrace at sunset is the reason to book this place - we went up every night. We ended up in the same corner cafe three mornings running, which tells you something about Sea Point. Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed.

8.6Nearly perfect
Went in with low expectations after the last place. The wifi held up through a two-hour video call without a single drop. The common room does that rare thing of being sociable without being loud at two in the morning.
We had to be out by half past ten on the last day, and that is genuinely the worst of it.

The Bed in 8-bed mixed dorm suited us well for a short stay. The neighbour opposite waters her balcony at seven every morning and says hello.
five floors and no lift - the Bed in 8-bed mixed dorm is lovely once you get up there with our bags. Storage is five hangers and a shelf, so we lived out of the bags.
