Nice staff, tired building
Booked on the photographs, which was my mistake - the owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after three nights you notice. A bottle of water in the room costs what a bottle of wine costs on the corner.

Not as described
Not a disaster, just not what we expected. The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot.
Traffic on the main road carries to the front rooms until well past midnight. Stairs only to the fifth floor, which was fine for us but would not suit everyone.

Does the job
Reception were helpful when we needed a doctor's address, which we appreciated. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
There is one toaster for the whole room, so there is a queue at nine.

Check-in itself was quick enough.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after five nights you notice. Thin walls, so we knew a fair amount about our neighbours and their travel plans.

Fair value for Amman
The Double Room with Garden View suited us well for a short stay. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. Lovely for a couple of nights away, quiet and personal.
The bathroom door catches on the bed frame, which tells you the size of the Double Room with Garden View. The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it.

One night too many
Shmeisani is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. Good position overall, and we walked most places rather than paying for cabs. The Family Suite suited us well for a short stay. The room was cleaned properly every day and the bins were never left.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.
