Would not book again
The room was at least clean when we arrived.
Dust on the top of the wardrobe and behind the door, which we noticed on the second day. It is showing its age in places - a chipped door frame here, a tired carpet there.

Does the important things well
Cheaper than the chain hotels two streets over and considerably nicer. Housekeeping were quietly excellent and clearly took pride in the rooms. Slept better than at home, which after four flights in a week is saying something.
Checkout is half past nine and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Fine for a couple of nights
The Double Room with Garden View is well organised and everything has somewhere to go. Our taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin.
The buffet gets picked over if you arrive after ten. The bathroom fan runs for twenty minutes after you leave and is loud.

Location carries it
The Double Room with Garden View is well organised and everything has somewhere to go. Two bus routes and a tram stop within a few minutes, so we got around easily.
For the money we expected a little more attention to detail.

Underwhelmed but not unhappy
Two nights, and two would have been plenty. The room was cleaned properly every day and the bins were never left. The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building.
We asked twice about the noise and nothing came of it. The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed.

Our favourite find in Singapore
For Singapore, this is a properly central spot without the coach parties. Sanne sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation.
The shower head is fixed high on the wall and cannot be angled.
