8.9Better than the price suggests
Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into Old Town late at night. The neighbour opposite waters her balcony at seven every morning and says hello.
Blackout blinds would make a difference in December, when it is bright by quarter past seven.

9.7Faultless from start to finish
You step out of the door and you are already somewhere worth being.
A second bedside lamp and a couple more sockets would finish the room off.

9.3Could not have gone better
Somebody has thought about the fabrics, and it shows in a way photographs do not capture. We ate in twice out of laziness and were glad both times - the kitchen is better than it needs to be. The courtyard rooms hear nothing but pigeons, which is the whole point. Nothing was too much trouble - a spare adapter, a table booking, a taxi at dawn.
Only that everywhere else now has a lot to live up to.

7.8Better on price than polish
The Terrace Room is well organised and everything has somewhere to go. Easy place to be a group without annoying anyone. They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for.
There is a bar on the corner that empties out noisily on a Wednesday night.

7.7No surprises, good or bad
We are fussy about where we sleep. A cat lives in the courtyard and considers the chairs to be hers. Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about.
It is uphill from the metro, which you feel with the suitcases in the heat.

Quiet from about ten at night, once the bar downstairs empties out. Good for a few nights alone - I was left to get on with it.
One small lift for three floors - fine unless everyone checks out at once.
