Very good, minor niggles
Somebody has thought about the joinery, and it shows in a way photographs do not capture. Our taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin. Walking back from Katara Cultural Village after dinner took fifteen minutes and never once felt like a trek.
We could not find anything to complain about.

No complaints, no fireworks
Third time in Doha and the first time we have got the hotel right. Pleasant bar for a nightcap, and they do not rush you out of it. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon. Charming small hotel, and the joinery lifts it above the usual.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait.

Expected far more
A desk of a usable size, a proper chair and sockets where you need them.
The Signature Room is smaller than the photographs suggest - two open cases will not fit on the floor. Roadworks on the corner from six on the Thursday, and nobody had warned me.

Practical rather than charming
Easy place to be a group without annoying anyone.
Wifi does not reach the terrace, which is where you actually want to sit.

Travelling on my own, I never felt uneasy walking back into West Bay late at night.
The car park is a ten-minute walk and costs more per night than I expected. A second bedside lamp and a couple more sockets would finish the room off.

Ask for a room at the back
The view from the balcony is not a marketing photograph - it is genuinely that. Somebody has thought about the old terrazzo floor, and it shows in a way photographs do not capture.
One person on the desk at eleven in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives.
