Restful and central
Booked late and got lucky. There is a good market on Saturday about five minutes away that nobody had told me about. Bunks have curtains, a plug and a light each, which is all anyone actually wants.
Checkout is half past nine and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Comfortable beds, good coffee
For what we paid in December, this was the best value stay of the trip by a distance. Cooking from the market two streets away was half the pleasure of the week. Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it. Checkout is half past ten and a late one costs about as much as another night's breakfast.

Fair value for Barcelona
My taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin. Bikes to borrow, which I used on both mornings. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
The bathroom door catches on the bed frame, which tells you the size of the Private Double Room.

Good location, average room
Three rooms on the same floor, which saved a lot of shouting up stairwells.
The shower takes a good minute to warm up, which adds up over three days.

Better in the photos
Not a disaster, just not what I expected. Clean bathroom, fresh towels daily, nothing to complain about. Good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen. Firm mattress, which is exactly how I like it. Wifi was quick enough for email, maps and an evening of streaming.
The bathroom fan runs for twenty minutes after you leave and is loud. Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through my stay.

Would send friends here
The kitchen has everything, including sharp knives and a decent pan, so we cooked most nights.
Checkout at eleven is early when you have an evening flight.
