Quieter than the average hostel, with a separate lounge for people who want to read. It scores well on rooftop social bar, less so on being the cheapest option in Campo de' Fiori. The photographs are honest, which is rarer than it should be.

Hard to recommend at this rate
They let us sit in the courtyard with our own wine on the last night.
You hear the door of the room next to you every time it shuts. The bathroom fan runs for twenty minutes after you leave and is loud.

Beat our expectations
Short version: yes. Hard to beat the position: Piazza Navona one way, the market the other, and no need for a taxi all week. The common room does that rare thing of being sociable without being loud at two in the morning.
Not a single thing, which almost never happens.

Exactly right
Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
Shower pressure drops off when the floor is busy at about quarter past seven.

Warm welcome in Campo de' Fiori
Lockers are big enough for a sixty-litre pack, which almost nowhere manages.
The shower head is fixed high on the wall and cannot be angled. Blackout blinds would make a difference in December, when it is bright by seven.

Small room, great location
Spot on for a first visit - you can walk out of the door and start. Worth every penny, and I do not say that often. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
Hot water was slow to arrive on the third floor first thing.

Good from check-in onwards
Family dinner in the kitchen on Wednesday for almost nothing and I met half the hostel.
The bathroom light is on a motion sensor and comes on if you turn over in bed. One person on the desk at half past ten in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives.
