7.4Fine, and fine is enough
Wifi was quick enough for email, maps and an evening of streaming; the owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot.
Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin.

Fine, with caveats. Breakfast was fine, and the coffee was better than expected. The room was at least clean when we arrived.
Not much space to move around the bed once a case is open on the floor. Stairs only to the second floor, which was fine for us but would not suit everyone.

They keep a jar of sweets by the lift that nobody admits to eating from. We upgraded to the Double Room with Garden View and would do it again without thinking.
A second bedside lamp and a couple more sockets would finish the room off.

9.4Quiet room, great coffee
We forgot it was a public holiday and they sorted us a table anyway. Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right.
That we booked only five nights.

Right, so. I ended up in the same corner cafe three mornings running, which tells you something about Ba Dinh. Grace sat with me over a map on the first evening and half my trip came out of that conversation.
Nothing, unless you count the taxi driver on the way out.

10.0Somewhere to come back to
Came for two nights, stayed four. We were at West Lake in twelve minutes on foot, which changed how we used the days. Ba Dinh has that mix of locals and visitors that makes a place feel alive rather than staged. Petra sat with us over a map on the first evening and half our trip came out of that conversation.
We were reminded about the ten checkout twice on the Tuesday, which felt unnecessary.
