Perfect for a long weekend
There is a bakery two doors down that opens at six, which I discovered by accident on the first morning. Blackout curtains that meet in the middle, a mattress with some life in it, and silence after eleven. Plenty of storage in the Twin Room, which sounds dull until you have unpacked for a fortnight.
Only that everywhere else now has a lot to live up to.

Strong all round
They lent us an umbrella on the wet Tuesday and did not ask for it back until we left. Records in the room, a proper armchair and the espresso that would hold up in any city. Check-in was quick and human, and they remembered our names for the rest of the stay.
Only that we had to leave.

Two nights was enough
Some of this worked, some of it did not. Clean and tidy throughout the stay. The lift has one of those inner doors you have to pull shut, which the children opposite treated as the highlight of their week.
The bathroom fan runs for forty minutes after you leave and is loud.

Decent, with reservations
Went in with low expectations after the last place. The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot. Nowa Huta is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after four nights you notice.

Not what the photos promised
The owners are kind and the breakfast is homemade, which counts for a lot. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
The front door is locked at half past ten and you have to ask for a key.

twelve minutes from Wieliczka Salt Mine
Sat on the terrace with a glass of wine watching the light go off the rooftops. That is the memory. Records in the room, a proper armchair and the espresso that would hold up in any city. Spotless, including the places nobody checks - skirting boards, the kettle, under the bed.
We could not find anything to complain about.
