Needs some attention
Fine, with caveats. Clean and tidy throughout the stay. The stairs creak in a way that is either charming or annoying depending on how tired you are.
The Cosy Room is smaller than the photographs suggest - two open cases will not fit on the floor. Towels are changed only on request, which is sensible but was not explained.

Does the job
Right, so. Easy place to be a group without annoying anyone. Downtown LA is pleasant to wander in the evening, and nothing felt far. Breakfast is solid rather than lavish - honey from the market and reliable coffee.
Roadworks on the corner from half past seven on the Sunday, and nobody had warned us.

Friendly and well run
In at eleven at night, out at six, and everything worked. That is all I need.
Only one socket by the bed, and the switch for it is behind the headboard.

Really rather good
Four of us across two rooms on the same corridor, which they arranged without being asked. No faff with the room: dark, cool and quiet by ten.
Getting a taxi to find the entrance took some explaining. Mosquitoes in the evening once the doors are open - the shop on the corner sells the plug-ins.

Practical base near the offices, and the checkout was quick at seven in the morning.
The sofa bed in the Cosy Room is not somewhere you would want a second week.
