Tired and overpriced
Good for a few nights alone - I was left to get on with it.
Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom except the edge of the basin. Blackout blinds would make a difference in November, when it is bright by seven.

Regretted it by the second night
The bed itself was comfortable. Everything around it was not.
There was a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom that we reported twice and nothing was done. The lift was out of order the whole week and there is no sign of it being fixed. Building work started at half past seven each morning and nobody had warned us at booking.

Nearly perfect
Opened the shutters on the first morning and just stood there for a minute. Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.
The walk back to the station on the Wednesday, and that is scraping.

Would recommend with one caveat
Astonishingly quiet for somewhere this central - I never heard the street once. Fast, stable wifi in the room rather than only in the lobby, which is rarer than it should be.
Only that everywhere else now has a lot to live up to.

The aircon held the room cool all through the September heat. Somebody had left a shelf of paperbacks by the window and I got through two of them. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one.
The bathroom fan runs for ten minutes after you leave and is loud.

Nobody blinked at a table for one, which is not true everywhere. Paulo at the desk was the standout - patient and genuinely useful.
Housekeeping missed me entirely on the Monday.
