Fine if you're out all day
The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon. Our taxi driver could not find the entrance and drove past it twice, so save the map pin.
The bathroom fan runs for forty minutes after you leave and is loud.

The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon. The concierge was helpful with tickets and directions.
Wifi does not reach the terrace, which is where you actually want to sit.

Nobody made me feel odd about eating alone, and the desk checked I had got back on the wet night.

Worth it for Tiong Bahru
Short version: yes. Easy place to stay on your own, and the area is fine to walk at night. You get more for the money here than at the two places I priced up in Tiong Bahru.
Nobody was on the desk for about fifteen minutes when I arrived on the Friday.
