Clean and central, not much else
Sociable without being a party hostel, and the bunks are sturdy. They keep a jar of sweets by the lift that nobody admits to eating from.
The heating is on a timer and goes off at about eleven, which in December you feel by morning.

Warm welcome in Josefstadt
The wifi held up through a two-hour video call without a single drop. Underfloor heating in the bathroom in November is a small luxury that we noticed every morning. For what we paid in November, this was the best value stay of the trip by a distance.
The walk back to the station on the Tuesday, and that is scraping.

Better than the street suggests
Lockers are big enough for a sixty-litre pack, which almost nowhere manages. The staff pointed us to a rooftop bar round the corner and it became our regular. Washer and a drying rack, so we travelled home with a clean bag.

Would not book again
Some of this worked, some of it did not. Wifi was quick enough for email, maps and an evening of streaming. The location is genuinely good, which is most of why I stuck it out.
Everything on site is priced for people not counting, from the water to the laundry. The bunk ladder is loose and wakes the whole room.

Could not have gone better
The common room does that rare thing of being sociable without being loud at two in the morning. Underfloor heating in the bathroom in August is a small luxury that we noticed every morning.

Two nights was enough
Good base for a few nights: clean dorm, big lockers, decent kitchen. There is a shortcut through the square that saves about five minutes and somebody drew it on my map.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after two nights you notice.
