Nothing worked as advertised
The building is beautiful from the outside.
Wifi dropped out constantly, which mattered because I was working. We reported a broken shower on arrival and it was still broken when we left three days later. Nobody told us the restaurant was closed for the week until we turned up hungry on the Monday.

Not acceptable at any price
The bed itself was comfortable. Everything around it was not. Honestly, very little. I was out from early until late to avoid being in the Suite.
For the money I paid this was not acceptable. The kitchen was missing most of what you would need to cook, despite the listing. There was mould in the corner of the bathroom ceiling and the extractor did not work. No hot water at all on the third morning, and no warning that the boiler was being worked on.

Would recommend with one caveat
Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur. Not a mark anywhere, and the room smelled of nothing at all, which is exactly right.
The buffet gets picked over if you arrive after half past ten. Shower pressure drops off when the floor is busy at about eight.

Charming and spotless
Late nights out and nobody once tutted at us coming in at three. A bell rings somewhere nearby on the hour and we stopped noticing it by the second day.
There is no fridge in the room, so the wine we bought stayed warm.

A proper welcome
Booked this on a whim and glad we did. The courtyard rooms hear nothing but pigeons, which is the whole point. Underfloor heating in the bathroom in October is a small luxury that we noticed every morning. You step out of the door and you are already somewhere worth being.
Nothing we could fault.
