Handy, if a little dated
Not fancy, but that was never the point. There is a lift, which we were glad of on the way up with the cases. Reasonably peaceful at the back of the building. The view over the rooftops from the balcony is a proper one. Good spread at breakfast and they keep the coffee coming.
We were reminded about the eleven checkout twice on the Friday, which felt unnecessary.

Somewhere to come back to
Coffee on the balcony mid-afternoon, watching Old French Quarter wake up. Worth the upgrade. The front door code worked every time, which sounds like a low bar until you have stayed somewhere it did not.
Only that we had to leave.

Worth it for Old French Quarter
A bell rings somewhere nearby on the hour and I stopped noticing it by the second day. Fine for a work trip: quiet floor, quick breakfast, cab rank outside.
The shower head is fixed high on the wall and cannot be angled.

The rate held steady when I added a night, which I appreciated. The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run. The desk kept an eye out for me without making a thing of it.
The mattress dips in the middle, which after two nights you notice.

The one to book in Old French Quarter
Two nights in and we were sleeping through until eight, which never happens for us. Fifteen rooms, one very good coffee machine and a courtyard nobody talks in above a murmur. Luggage storage on the last day meant a proper final afternoon rather than dragging cases about.
Parking nearby is expensive, though that is Siem Reap rather than the hotel.

Does what it says
The restaurant is convenient and priced about where you would expect. They lent us an umbrella on the wet Tuesday and did not ask for it back until we left. The terrace is a good place to sit with a book in the late afternoon.
Pillows are enormous and there is no alternative on offer.
