Good value for V&A Waterfront
The courtyard rooms hear nothing but pigeons, which is the whole point. The kettle was already descaled, which is the kind of detail that tells you how a place is run. Blackout curtains that meet in the middle, a mattress with some life in it, and silence after eleven.
There is no fridge in the room, so the wine we bought stayed warm. One person on the desk at eleven in the evening means a queue when the airport bus arrives.

Left slightly deflated
Housekeeping twice a week kept on top of things; there is a coffee machine in the room, which saved us a few euros a day.
For the money we expected a little more attention to detail.

Good spot, tired rooms
V&A Waterfront is a sensible base, a few streets back from the crowds and still close to everything. Housekeeping twice a week kept on top of things. Firm mattress, which is exactly how we like it. The villa is well organised and everything has somewhere to go.
The last two hundred metres are steep and cobbled - not a problem, just plan for it. There is a bar on the corner that empties out noisily on a Saturday night.

Underwhelmed but not unhappy
The house is big enough for a group and the pool is genuinely private.
Check-in is not until four and there is nowhere comfortable to wait. Housekeeping missed us entirely on the Friday.

Simple and clean
Kitchen is well enough equipped for simple cooking. Worked well for a group of us, with somewhere to sit together in the evening. The bathroom is cleverly laid out and the shower is hot and fast.
Housekeeping arrives at quarter past seven, which on a holiday morning is early.

Would think twice
Somebody had left a shelf of paperbacks by the window and I got through two of them. They keep a pillow menu at reception and actually bring what you ask for.
Scaffolding went up on the building opposite halfway through our stay.
